Up, Up and Away

As children, flying was something we all wished we could get to experience. It’s only a matter of time when you get to live that dream in real life. \

“Peter and the Starcatcher” is the fall play and will be showing November 17th and 18th at 7:00pm in the auditorium. This show is famous for using imagination and puts a twist on humor. Peter Pan will be played by sophomore Logan Andreoni and he’s very excited to take on such a big role.

Since Andreoni will be launched in the air, there are safety steps that must be taken from the moment he walks on to the moment he walks off. “I figured we would just put the vest on and fly away”, Andreoni says.

From a young age, Logan was unaware that acting was for him as he states, “Honestly, I just needed something to do and I didn’t really want to play another sport but it was 7th grade year, and I auditioned to be in Shephard drama, and to my surprise I got the part”! From there on out, acting has been in Andreoni’s heart and he has been learning more about himself, his skills as an actor, and even wants to further his career in the near future.
“Peter and the Starcatcher” is everything leading up to how the original “Peter Pan” got his name, his story, and is a major foreshadowing experience.
The flight equipment is worn under the costumes through the entire scene and can be uncomfortable at times but it’s all for the safety of the performer. The director and assistant directors, the cast, and the crew all work so incredibly hard to make these shows all they have the potential of being and more.
“It’s great to see everyone working together as a team. Everyone is important and I love that and I hope you enjoy the show”. Come experience the flying, mermaids, pirates, lost boys, the toilet, and become a kid again.
