Number four in the state, number one in our hearts. Junior Ellie Gallagher and senior Katie McGraw made their debut at the state tennis championship as a doubles team for the third year in a row on October 20. The duo advanced to the Final Four, but fell to the number one seeded team, Timothy Christian, claiming a fourth place title. “All season I suspected they could be a top eight team, so to place fourth was just that much better. As play progressed on Thursday and Friday I did not see a team I did not think we could hang with, so I was excited to see where we would end up. They did a great job of staying focused to win a couple of tough three setters on Friday. This was a great way to end a very successful season not only for Katie and Ellie but for the whole team,” coach Steven Johnson said.
