There have been many changes in all the departments of the school for the 2018-2019 school year. A few of those changes took place in the counselling department.
One of the changes was with the counselor of the Class of 2020. Due to a sickness, previous counselor, Jennifer Rhode had to give up her position. The school decided to hire
Lauren Yates to fill in the shoes of Rhode. Yates is loving her new job so far and enjoys spending time with the other counselors. She said, “I am so grateful to be here and plan on enjoying every minute of it. I am excited to be the counselor for the Class of 2020, and although I am joining the class half-way through their high school experience, I can’t wait to help them navigate the rest of this year and senior year as they get ready to enter their lives post-high
Another change in the counselling department is that Kim Swords is now the special needs counselor and the counselling department head. Since she switched, the school hired Michelle Schoolman to take her role as the counselor of the Class of 2021.
Although a lot of changes has been occuring in the past year within the Counselling Department, it seems that they are all coming out to be positive. All the counselors wish the best to Mrs. Rhode, and hope all the students have another great year.
