“Spider-Man: Far From Home” Review

“Spider-Man: Far From Home” smashed into theaters with a loveable cast, including the star himself Tom Holland, an impeccable plotline, and an overall box office grossing of over $1.107 billion, making it Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing movie worldwide since “Skyfall” in 2012.
The movie starts off right after “Avengers: Endgame” ends. Peter Parker (Holland) and the rest of his science class, including his best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon), take a trip to Europe. Once there, Parker plans to tell a girl who he’s fallen for, M.J (Zendaya), how he feels about her and overall wants to take a break from being an Avenger. He also wants to keep from thinking about his mentor, Iron Man’s (Robert Downey Jr.’s) death. However, Avenger creator and S.H.I.E.L.D director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) has other plans. In the end, what Parker thought was going to be a normal, relaxing summer, turned out quite the opposite. In his own words, “I didn’t think I’d have to save the world this summer.”
The reviews have been all positive with remarks about the film’s humor, visual effects and performances, specifically Holland’s and Jake Gyllenhaal’s, the actor who plays Mysterio. It scored a 90 percent from Rotten Tomatoes and won the Choice Summer Movie Award on Aug. 11 at the Teen Choice Awards ceremony. Along with that, Holland won Choice Summer Movie Actor and his co-star Zendaya took home the Choice Summer Movie Actress Award.
In April 2017, it was announced that a third film had been slated for production with producer Kevin Feigie saying that the storyline would take place during Parker’s senior year. Since then, however, it was decided that Feigie would no longer be producing for the Spider-Man series and Spider-Man would be booted from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Senior Savanah Soto said that “Spider-Man is probably the best superhero movie I’ve seen in awhile. The action scenes were really cool.”
