Christiano Ronaldo once said, “Maybe they hate me because I’m too good.” This can surely be said for athlete of the month senior Carter Chiaventone when he steps onto the soccer field. Chiaventone uses this kind confidence on and off the field.
Chiaventone has been playing on the soccer field since he was 7. This year Chiaventone was chosen to be one of the captains on the varsity team. “I don’t really see it as a position that comes with pressure. I just try and set a good example for the rest of the team, regardless if I’m seen as team captain,” Chiaventone said.
“Carter has been a steadying influence on the team ever since being made a starter his sophomore year. His consistency and skill makes us a much better team,” Coach Holtzman said.
He is also an important role model to his teammates. “Carter is my athletic idol, and he inspires me to do my best every time I step onto the soccer field,” fellow teammate senior Owen Heimsoth said.
Chaiventone plans to continue playing soccer at the intermediate level after high school. He would also like to go into coaching soccer in the future as well.
