Staff 2020-2021


(EDITOR) Alexandra Boe is a senior who enjoys singing, baking, playing soccer and spending time with friends and family. She is involved in Concert Choir, DoCHANGE peer mentoring, and soccer. She is also on the Worship Team at her church. Although she enjoys writing articles for the newspaper, she is pursuing her future goals in getting her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine to become a veterinarian.
(EDITOR) Colette Methling is a senior involved in Poms, Rotary, Superfans, Ottawa Dance Academy’s competitive dance team, and is the co-editor of the Pirate Press this year. Ever since she was young, she has loved to dance and has been able to perform in Rome’s New Year’s Day Parade and Disney World’s Parade down Mainstreet. Colette plans on continuing her dance career by joining a collegiate dance team in the fall of 2021. In her spare time, you can either find her teaching dance to children at her studio, writing, or shopping.


(JOURNALIST) Junior Alora Hyatt wishes she was a cow boy born in the wild west but unfortunately ended up in Ottawa. Since nothing interesting ever happens in Ottawa she started to sing and play the bass instead. Hyatt enjoys spending time with her friends and getting lost on random roads. She has no clue what she’s doing with her life, but still has fun anyways.
(JOURNALIST) Julia McLean is a senior at OTHS she is in many clubs including: Yearbook, Super-fans, student council, Pirate Press and, Do-Change. She is also on the golf and cheer team. Julia works at subway. She enjoys spending time with her friends and watching Vampire diaries in her free time. Her favorite food is pesto pasta.
(JOURNALIST) Leah Reed is a junior who is also a member of the yearbook committee. She also loves to read and collect books. Leah is also a member of the competitive dance team at Ottawa Dance Academy and loves to perform. Her true passion in life is to be able to travel the world and see as much of it as possible. Her hopes for the future are to travel to Europe, specifically France and Italy.
(JOURNALIST) Dakota Roman is a senior who enjoys the leisurely aspects of life such as reading, watching movies, and playing Dungeons and Dragons with her friends. She considers herself a quiet and shy person but is trying to open up to new ideas and experiences. Journalism is a subject she pursued to help her get out of her comfort zone. Eventually, she wishes to earn her Bachelor’s in Mortuary Science so she can become a mortician.
